Addressing the military options available to the US, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, an adviser to the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said that the deployment of American ground forces would result in heavy casualties and the capture of a large number of troops, making such an option prohibitively costly for the United States.
Regarding US naval vessels, Naqdi noted that these ships are under threat, and approaching the region poses risks to the personnel stationed aboard. He noted that a strike against a vessel carrying a large number of troops could lead to massive casualties and carry severe domestic repercussions for the US.
The general further said the United States has, on certain occasions, concealed the true figures regarding casualties among its forces stationed in regional countries, including Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE. Noting that the enemy has concentrated the bulk of its capabilities on aerial attacks, he said a response to enemy bombardment of the country could take the form of a retaliatory strike, targeting infrastructure whose destruction would entail severe economic consequences for the adversary.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Naqdi highlighted the US defeat in the face of the Iranian nation, noting that the enemy’s primary objectives—such as the overthrow of the political system and the fragmentation of Iran—met with failure in the very early stages.
“Subsequently, the enemy’s leaders outlined 13 new objectives and took steps to realize them; yet, these, too, failed one after another.”
He emphasized that Iran’s achievements should not be reduced merely to the enemy’s failure.
Heavy blows have been dealt to the enemy, US bases in the region, along with hundreds of critical military sites and installations, have been targeted, he said, adding that the enemy has lost numerous helicopters, aircraft, fighter jets, and drones.
A greater achievement though is that, in the eyes of the world’s nations, Iran is now recognized as a standard-bearer for freedom and the defense of truth, while the enemy has become increasingly isolated, he went on to say.
The US and Israel launched their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28.
Forty days later, on April 8, the enemies were forced to accept a ceasefire amid Iran’s resistance and successful retaliatory operations.
In July, the US conducted waves of deadly air raids on Iran and imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Republic, signed on June 17, to end the war.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched devastating strikes against strategic American targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.
