Hospital sources in Gaza told journalists on the ground that one of the victims died from injuries sustained in an earlier attack.
In Gaza City, an Israeli quadcopter drone killed eight-year-old Shahd Abdul Razzaq al-Najjar in the al-Jawazat area, the Wafa news agency reported, citing medical sources.
Meanwhile, a woman was wounded by Israeli fire in Khan Younis, while Israeli naval vessels opened fire off the coast of Gaza City and Israeli military vehicles fired on areas east of the city, Wafa reported.
Despite the ceasefire signed by the main parties to the conflict in October last year, Israeli attacks have continued across the besieged territory.
More than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed since the agreement took effect, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, underscoring the continued threat facing civilians despite the declared truce.
One year into the ceasefire, Palestinians remain trapped in conditions of insecurity, with homes still unsafe and the threat of further Israeli attacks hanging over daily life.
The genocide in Gaza has not fundamentally changed in character; although the intensity of the attacks has fluctuated, the danger to Palestinians remains, with consequences extending far beyond the immediate loss of life.
