Ossoff, who is running for re-election in Georgia, said during a debate on Thursday that whether Israel committed genocide in Gaza was “a question for the International Criminal Court”.
He then criticized his Republican opponent, Representative Mike Collins, for supporting sanctions against and the defunding of the ICC.
Meanwhile, the ongoing Israeli criminal attacks have continued to inflict a devastating toll on Palestinians despite a ceasefire announced in October last year.
According to Islamic Relief, Israeli attacks have killed or wounded a Palestinian in Gaza every 90 minutes on average since the ceasefire was announced.
The UK-based charity said at least 1,454 Palestinians had been killed and more than 5,000 wounded over the past year, including at least 320 children.
Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported a slightly higher toll since the ceasefire, with 1,471 Palestinians killed and 5,189 wounded.
The ministry said at least 74,254 Palestinians had been killed in the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023.
In addition to the continued attacks, Islamic Relief said the Israeli regime had used the so-called Yellow Line to push Palestinians out of 65 percent of Gaza, leaving nearly 2.1 million people crowded into the remaining 35 percent of the territory.
The charity also said the Zionist regime continued to restrict the entry of shelter materials, fuel and medical supplies, while more than half of health services remained shut and more than 20,000 severely ill patients were unable to leave Gaza for treatment.
“There is no ceasefire in reality,” an Islamic Relief aid worker in Gaza said.
