US Bases in Jordan Targeted in IRGC Missile, Drone Strikes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The technical and maintenance infrastructure and the fighter jet bases at the two American air bases in Jordan came under attack in an operation carried out by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The IRGC Public Relations Department issued a statement on Monday morning, announcing the attacks on US targets at King Hussein and Al-Azraq airbases in Jordan.

It came in response to Sunday night’s terrorist attack by the US on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of Iranian combatants and compatriots..

“A few minutes ago, the zealous fighters of the IRGC Aerospace Force, in response to the American-Zionist enemy’s aerial aggression on Lark Island, launched a combined missile and drone operation codenamed Muhammad ibn Abdullah (PBUH) to destroy the technical and maintenance infrastructure and the enemy fighter jet bases at the two American air bases, King Hussein and Al-Azraq, in Jordan, causing significant damage,” the statement said.

The IRGC warned that aggression and crime will not solve the enemy’s desperation and inability to weaken the Islamic Republic’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, and every shot by the enemy will be met with more devastating responses.

The operation underscores Iran’s unwavering policy that any assault on Iranian soil, particularly in the strategic waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, will be answered in kind and with greater force.

Iranian officials have long warned that Washington’s attempts to challenge the Islamic Republic’s sovereign presence along this vital waterway only expose the enemy’s strategic bankruptcy.

Larak Island sits at the heart of the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important energy corridor. Iranian authorities have repeatedly stated that control of the waterway is a matter of national security and that no foreign power will be permitted to dictate terms there.

Sources described Monday’s strikes as precise, calibrated, and aimed at the infrastructure that enables US warplanes and support operations from Jordanian territory. By hitting maintenance facilities and fighter deployment sites, the IRGC said it has degraded the enemy’s ability to project force from those bases.
