Seyed Jalal Hosseini, head of the Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents Center of Astan Quds Razavi, said the book donations were carried out as part of the activities of the organization’s mobile and telephone library service during Ten-Day Karamat celebrations.
The Ten-Day Karamat (generosity) refers to the first ten days of the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah. It begins with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatimah Masoumeh (SA) and concludes with the birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (AS).
Hosseini noted that the books were selected and dispatched in various subjects in accordance with the requests and needs of the relevant scientific, cultural, and educational centers and their audiences.
He said 5,000 books were donated to the Public Libraries Institution of Faridan in Isfahan Province, 2,050 books were delivered to the Khatam al-Anbiya Mosque Library in Qamsar of Kashan, and 2,000 books were provided to the Fadak Sabz Tous Quranic Institute.
Referring to the donation of 2,000 books to the Razavi Pharmaceutical Services Institute, he added that another 1,000 books were sent to Samangan Province in Afghanistan.
Hosseini also noted that, in addition to the donation of 12,000 books to those centers, a project to donate books to 168 schools across Iran, particularly in deprived and underprivileged areas, has been launched in commemoration of the student martyred at the “Shajareh Tayyebeh” School in Iran’s southern city of Minab during a brutal US-Israeli attack on February 28.
