According to military sources cited by the Israeli daily Israel Hayom, recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon have remained within established “rules of engagement”, with operations largely confined to non-populated areas and without any substantive shift in military directives.
The sources noted that these limitations have created openings that Hezbollah has used to carry out repeated operations targeting invading Israeli forces within the so-called "Yellow Line", Al Mayadeen reported.
On the ground, Israeli forces continue to occupy positions in parts of southern Lebanon but face ongoing difficulties in securing both their troops and northern settlements. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has intensified its operations, most notably including an operation in the town of Taybeh that killed an Israeli soldier and wounded several others, underscoring its ability to act despite Israeli military presence.
Hezbollah’s strategy is reportedly built around exploiting the Israeli regime’s calibrated approach, which is influenced by broader political and international considerations, including ceasefire arrangements. By operating within these boundaries, Hezbollah has maintained a steady tempo of attacks while avoiding a full-scale escalation.
Israeli officials, according to the report, acknowledge that current operations are not aimed at decisively neutralizing Hezbollah, reinforcing assessments that the resistance group retains tactical flexibility on the battlefield.
