Hezbollah Vows to Confront Israel, Liberate 'Every Inch' of Occupied Land

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem rejected the Lebanese government’s planned direct talks with the Israeli regime, calling them a "grave sin" that will destabilize Lebanon, as he vowed to end the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon.

Sheikh Qassem said on Monday that Hezbollah will not give up its arms, and that people will return to their lands, vowing that Israeli troops will not remain on "a single inch of our occupied land".

"We categorically reject direct negotiations with Israel, and those in power should know that their actions will not benefit Lebanon or themselves," Qassem said in a statement, Naharnet reported.

The secretary general of Hezbollah called on Lebanon’s authorities to "back down from their grave sin that is putting Lebanon in a spiral of instability".

"These direct negotiations and their outcomes are as if they do not exist for us, and they do not concern us in the slightest," he stated, adding, "We will continue our defensive resistance for Lebanon and its people".

"No matter how much the enemy threatens, we will not back down, we will not bow down, and we will not be defeated," Sheikh Qassem underlined.
