Spokesman Raps US Missile Use, Mocks ‘Depleted’ Tomahawk Stockpile in War on Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei ridiculed Washington’s reported shortage of Tomahawk missiles, denouncing the US for squandering its arsenal on civilian targets and condemning heinous attacks on schools and other non-military Iranian sites.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Baqaei reacted to a report from CBS News highlighting the rapid use of US Tomahawk missiles in the war on Iran, suggesting that American forces are exhausting their stockpile faster than it can be replenished.

Referring to an American strike on an elementary school in southern Iran, he delivered a scathing critique of US military conduct, implying that the weapons could have been “saved” for further attacks on civilian infrastructure.

“If they had saved the two missiles they fired at Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab on 28 February, they could have proudly boasted today of two extra Tomahawks in their inventory to drop on another school, a university, a hospital or a cultural-historical site,” Baqaei said.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
