24 Palestinians Killed in Gaza amid Destruction of Aid Shelters

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Over the past two days, Gaza experienced a devastating loss of life as 24 Palestinians were killed due to heavy rainfall and the destruction of homes and a significant number of tents, according to the Gaza government information office.

UNICEF also reported that over 100 Palestinian children have been martyred in Gaza since the ceasefire commenced, with some casualties attributed to Israeli drone strikes, according to Al Jazeera.

The Israeli regime initiated its military campaign against the Gaza Strip in October 2023, with the primary objectives of dismantling Hamas and rescuing captives held in the region.

However, the regime’s efforts have been thwarted, resulting in an agreement brokered with Hamas for prisoner exchanges.

The Israeli invasion of Gaza, backed by the United States, has resulted in extensive destruction, with an estimated 90% of the Strip's infrastructure obliterated.

The United Nations has projected that rebuilding efforts will require approximately $70 billion.
