Moscow Slams Foreign Interference in Iran, Offers Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russia’s top security official, Sergey Shoygu, strongly condemned attempts by foreign countries to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.

Speaking during a phone conversation with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, Shoygu also offered condolences for the Iranian casualties in recent riots.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, Shoygu expressed Russia’s readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation based on the strategic partnership agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Russian Security Council’s press service reported that Shoygu and Larijani agreed to maintain contact and coordinate their positions to ensure regional security.

The development follows a warning from Omer Çelik, a spokesperson for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, regarding the repercussions of foreign interference in Iran and Israeli aggressions in the region.

Çelik emphasized Turkey's desire to avoid any violent unrest in Iran, warning that any foreign intervention could lead to a major crisis. “Iran is our neighbor, and we are closely monitoring all developments there; we want no harm to befall the Iranian nation,” Çelik stated.

Furthermore, Çelik said that “Israel is fueling chaos throughout the region,” denouncing the Israeli regime and its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for attempting to conceal their genocide in Gaza by fostering chaos.

Previously, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated in an interview with TAT Haber that Israel's expectations of the Iranian government's collapse would not be fulfilled. He affirmed that Israel's anticipated outcome of the protests in various Iranian cities will not materialize.
