Spokesman Condemns US for Fueling Regional Chaos, Blaming Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the United States for fueling regional chaos through its military aggression while blaming Iran over insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Baqaei said the United States was responsible for regional insecurity but was now calling on the international community to condemn Iran over the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on X, he responded to the US secretary of state’s call for countries around the world to condemn Iran, saying Washington and the Israeli regime were responsible for the consequences of their military aggression and violations of international law.

Writing in English, Baqaei said, “They attacked Iran twice in less than nine month - while negotiations were underway. They massacred our children in Minab, murdered our daughters in Lamerd, assassinated our leaders, and intensified sanctions on our people. They destroyed the very MoU they signed on June 17, and now they demand that the world condemn Iran!”

The spokesman said the international community was now paying the price of the lawlessness and military aggression of the United States and the Israeli regime, from regional turmoil to insecurity in the global economy and energy markets.

He said those who ignited conflicts and plunged the region into chaos could not assume the role of the accuser and demand that others condemn the victim.

Baqaei added that the attempt to reverse the roles of aggressor and victim would not allow the United States and the Israeli regime to evade responsibility or accountability for their actions.

“You cannot evade responsibility by turning the aggressor into the accuser and the victim into the culprit,” he said.
