In a post on his X account, Araqchi criticized Macron over his stance on the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, urging the French president to heed his own people's demands for change and freedom of assembly.
“Mr. Macron made his bed when he assured POTUS that he welcomes atrocities against Iranians,” Araqchi wrote.
“Too late to blame the war his ilk helped cause. The French people demand wholesale change, including freedom of assembly,” he reminded the French leader.
“Listen to the future of France, Mr. President,” Araqchi added.
Araqchi also attached a screenshot of a previous private message from Macron to US President Donald Trump, in which the French president expressed readiness to cooperate with Washington on Iran.
The message emerged against the backdrop of the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran.
Araqchi's remarks also came amid unrest in France, where violent demonstrations and clashes with police have exposed deep political and social tensions. Macron condemned the violence and vowed that those responsible for rioting and looting would face consequences.
French authorities reported nearly 2,400 arrests during one of the country's most violent nights in years, while around 1,000 police officers and gendarmes were injured. Macron sought to distinguish peaceful protesters with legitimate grievances from those involved in destruction and looting, and pledged emergency assistance for affected communities.
The unrest has also intensified political criticism of Macron's government. Left-wing presidential hopeful Jean-Luc Mélenchon blamed the authorities for failing to maintain public order, while far-right leader Jordan Bardella described Macron's response as inadequate and accused the government of failing to protect the public.
