Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Zafarqandi said the required health surveillance is being carried out at all Iranian borders and that necessary guidelines have been issued to health centers and border facilities.
He said reports concerning plague cases in Russia are being reviewed by the World Health Organization (WHO), but “no official announcement has yet been made by the organization” on the matter.
“We have taken the necessary monitoring measures,” the minister said, adding that relevant guidelines have been issued to health and border authorities over the past two or three days.
“Therefore, there is no cause for concern,” Zafarqandi stated.
