Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Bruneian Foreign Minister Abdul Mateen ibni Hassanal Bolkiah on Thursday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The two foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations and international developments, particularly issues concerning the Muslim world, including Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians.
Araqchi stressed the need for the OIC to pay greater attention to the Palestine issue, pointing to the intensification of the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Al-Quds and other parts of the occupied Palestinian territories.
He also referred to the Zionist regime’s continued aggression against Lebanon and other Islamic countries, emphasizing the need for “urgent action” to confront the Israeli regime’s colonial domination.
The two sides also discussed Iran-Brunei bilateral relations.
