Abbas Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno on Thursday in New York, where he is attending the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Iranian foreign minister outlined the latest developments in West Asia and stressed the importance of European countries taking a responsible and international-law-based approach to US acts of aggression and illegality against Iran.
Araqchi also pointed to the continuation of the occupation and genocide of Palestinians and the Israeli regime’s aggressive expansionism in the region. He stressed the responsibility of all governments to halt these acts of aggression and hold Zionist perpetrators accountable and punish them for their crimes.
The two foreign ministers also discussed the bilateral relations between Iran and Spain.
