In a statement released on Thursday, the IRGC Intelligence Organization said the resilience and courage of the Iranian people, coupled with the “intelligent use of geography,” have confronted the US military with an impasse in costly and low-yield combat patterns.
The statement said the evacuation and deactivation of US Central Command (CENTCOM) bases, the transfer of forces to Jordan under the assumption that it would provide a “secure rear,” the casualties inflicted on US forces, and the withdrawal of intelligence and military equipment to more distant locations have imposed a heavy cost on the American people for maintaining a low-yield US presence around Iran.
The IRGC Intelligence Organization further said the initiatives of Iran’s Armed Forces have “changed the battlefield equation,” placing bases, runways, hangars, aircraft and other assets on land and at sea, including US warships, under sustained and continuous threat of attack.
It added that the continuation of Iran’s firepower and its “double-strike strategy” have created a contradiction for Washington’s rationale of increasing its forces and equipment: “Increasing the presence creates more targets and higher casualties.”
Conversely, the statement said, reducing the US presence while insisting on continuing bullying would mobilize the people against Washington.
The statement also pointed to a strategic achievement in reducing the US freedom of action. It cited strikes against US naval forces, casualties imposed in Jordan, the disruption of vessels following “devastating responses,” as well as the vulnerability, destruction and capture of unmanned equipment and the growing number of targets accessible to Iran.
These developments, the IRGC Intelligence Organization said, have pushed the US toward dispersion, concealment and “minimal presence.”
It stressed that the main measure of a shift in the balance is not merely the amount of damage inflicted, but “the degree of freedom of action that has been denied to the enemy.”
