In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Baqaei rejected the German chancellor’s characterization of Iran and criticized Germany’s stance toward the conflict in the region.
“The German Chancellor speaks of Iran’s ‘war,’ its ‘military nuclear program,’ and Iran’s ‘proxies.’ This narrative is knowingly distorted. It was USrael - not Iran - that launched a war of aggression, and Germany failed to show even the minimum moral courage required to deplore that,” the Iranian spokesman said.
“Those Berlin labels ‘proxies’ are independent actors with their own clear causes and calculations. They are fighting for self-determination, freedom, and dignity against occupation, aggression and subjugation,” he added.
“Iran has no ‘military’ nuclear program - no matter how often the Israeli fabricated 'big lie' is repeated by Israeli apologists,” Baqaei noted.
“Our region should not have to pay the price for Germany’s guilt complex or its habit of appeasement vis-a-vis bullies,” the spokesman said.
“Germany cannot underwrite the ‘dirty work’ and then pose as a champion of peace and a moral instructor,” he stated.
