According to a statement issued by the Quds Base’s public relations office on Saturday, the terrorist team was identified following a public tip and precise intelligence operations before being targeted at dawn on September 12.
The statement said the joint operation was carried out by forces from the IRGC, the Intelligence Ministry and the Law Enforcement Command in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
Four terrorists were killed in the operation, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were discovered in the team’s hideout.
The Quds Base said the operation continued until before noon, adding that three members of the intelligence and security forces were also martyred.
It noted that the US and the Zionist regime, having suffered a major defeat on the military front, had instructed terrorist groups to create insecurity in Sistan and Baluchestan Province in an attempt to conceal their failures.
The statement also noted that the number of terrorists killed in the operation could increase.
