In a statement on developments related to Yemen, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Iran’s principled position on respecting Yemen’s independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes its principled and steadfast position on the necessity of respecting the independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen, and ending the illegal and inhumane blockade of this country,” the statement said.
“Undoubtedly, security and stability in West Asia and the Red Sea region will not be achieved without respecting the legitimate rights and dignity of the great people of Yemen,” the ministry emphasized.
“What is currently happening in Yemen cannot be separated from the developments of more than the past decade. The great and noble people of Yemen, as the heirs to a brilliant and historic civilization who have always played a decisive and proud role in the history of the region and the world, have the right to live a dignified life, free from pressure, intimidation and a cruel blockade, and their national sovereignty and territorial integrity must be fully respected,” the statement underlined.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing the necessity of paying attention to the interests of the Islamic Ummah—especially at a time when the West Asian region is facing the unprecedented evil, oppression and expansionism of the Zionist regime in collusion with the United States—recalls that resolving issues related to Yemen is not possible through the continuation of the blockade and military sides-picking,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran stresses the necessity of immediately resuming dialogue based on the agreed roadmap and implementing its provisions, and is ready to make any good offices efforts in this regard,” he stated.
