The IRGC Aerospace Force said it targeted, with several ballistic missiles, a US aircraft carrier and a destroyer that had harassed Iranian ships and participated in the naval blockade.
“The two warships, after sustaining damage and fearing another attack, were forced to flee the area of engagement,” the force said.
It added that the enemy, which had for years “roamed the region with false pride and hollow claims,” is now forced to officially acknowledge that two US Navy warships had come under attack.
“CENTCOM’s acknowledgment confirming this operation is living evidence of the enemy’s strategic defeat and proof of the offensive power of the IRGC,” the statement said.
The IRGC Aerospace Force warned that if hostile and aggressive actions continue, “the US regime must expect devastating responses from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Meanwhile, the IRGC Navy said in a statement on Saturday night that the US “terrorist and aggressor army”, in a brutal act carried out “out of desperation” over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, had attacked three oil tankers belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran earlier that morning, causing damage.
The IRGC Navy said its forces subsequently targeted three oil tankers traveling along an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz as well as three vessels affiliated with the US in other areas.
The IRGC Navy issued a “firm warning” to all vessels present in the Persian Gulf and near the Strait of Hormuz, urging them not to fall for deception by the US military and to avoid any suspicious movement aimed at passing through unauthorized waterways.
“Otherwise, you will be targeted,” the statement warned.
Also, the spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of Iran warned the US military that if its acts of “mischief, insecurity and harassment of Iranian ships” and the naval blockade of Iran continue, the Iranian Armed Forces will deliver “more severe strikes than before” against US military vessels in the region.
