Araqchi made the remarks at a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Beijing Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, held in Tehran on Wednesday.
The envoy briefed the foreign minister on the latest measures, initiatives and ongoing plans to develop and deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Tehran and Beijing.
For his part, Araqchi stressed the special importance of Iran-China strategic relations and the determination of the authorities of both countries to deepen and expand cooperation.
He also emphasized the need to make greater use of existing capacities and accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements and joint projects, particularly within the framework of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation program.
The Iranian foreign minister also stressed the necessity of pursuing close consultations and coordination between Iran and China regarding regional and international developments.
