Mohammad Sadeq Mofatteh, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, made the remarks at the 10th BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting, voicing Tehran’s support for the meeting’s joint declaration.
Mofatteh said BRICS should move beyond dialogue toward practical industrial cooperation based on complementary economic capacities, joint investment, technology partnerships and value creation.
He said Iran is prepared to pursue joint projects in strategic industries while cooperating on digital transformation, smart manufacturing, industrial standards and resilient logistics networks.
He also highlighted Iran’s strategic location at the crossroads of major east-west and north-south transportation corridors, saying the country could serve as a reliable link connecting production, energy, transportation and regional markets.
Mofatteh also welcomed the establishment of a BRICS working group on photovoltaics and expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate on renewable-energy technologies, photovoltaic manufacturing, energy storage and technology exchange.
He said Iran’s abundant solar resources, mineral reserves and industrial capabilities position it to contribute to joint initiatives aimed at expanding clean energy, improving industrial competitiveness and advancing sustainable development.
The Iranian official further backed BRICS initiatives to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups and innovation ecosystems, stressing that greater access to technology, financing and regional markets could promote inclusive growth among member states.
