Minister: Iran Prepared to Counter Economic Warfare

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian administration has plans in place to counter a hybrid economic war waged by hostile countries, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Madanizadeh said.

Economy

Madanizadeh said Iran's enemies have targeted the country's economy alongside military and cyber-attacks, arguing that their objective is to disrupt the livelihoods of the Iranian people as part of a broader hybrid warfare campaign.

He dismissed recent claims about the country's economic situation, including allegations of banking sector bankruptcy and the government's inability to finance its budget, describing them as false and saying the administration would provide a detailed response later.

The minister stressed that the government, backed by public support, would not allow its adversaries to achieve their objectives and said officials have prepared countermeasures to confront any hostile plans.

He also said the administration’s economic team remains firmly committed to managing the country's economy, noting that the cabinet has drawn up a two-year economic and "resistance" plan.

Madanizadeh reassured the public that there is no reason for concern and expressed confidence that the country would overcome the challenges.
