Araqchi Warns against US Adventurism in Calls with Pakistani, Turkish Officials

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned against any adventurist move by the US, stressing that Iran is fully prepared to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and security and will respond decisively to any act of aggression.

Araqchi held separate telephone conversations with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the latest regional developments.

During the talks, the officials exchanged views on the consequences of the US’ aggressive and destabilizing actions and the risk of escalating tensions and insecurity across the region.

Araqchi warned against any adventurist action by the US and reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to safeguard its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.

He emphasized that Iran's Armed Forces stand ready to deliver a decisive response to any act of aggression against the country.

The telephone conversations took place amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a broader conflict.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump claimed that he had canceled planned military strikes against Iran, saying the decision was tied to progress in negotiations and conditioned on the prospect of reaching a deal swiftly. He also claimed that Iran and "other Middle Eastern countries" had urged him to refrain from carrying out the attacks.

Prior to Trump's announcement, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly expressed concern during a telephone conversation with the US president over the possibility of fresh American strikes on Iran, warning that such actions could further inflame regional tensions.
