In a telephone conversation on Friday, Abbas Araqchi and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar talked about the bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.
Explaining the latest situation in the region and outlining Iran’s positions, Araqchi said the US' breach of its commitments and continued military aggression against Iran, including its naval blockade and attacks on Iranian commercial shipping, are the main causes of insecurity in the region and the Strait of Hormuz.
He also stressed the responsibility of the international community to hold the aggressors accountable for their actions.
For his part, Jaishankar voiced concern over the current regional situation and its consequences for other countries.
The Indian foreign minister also emphasized New Delhi's readiness to help reduce tensions in the region.
