“Today, Islamic Iran stands at one of the most glorious moments in its history; a historic moment when the dear people of Iran come together in mourning the wise Leader of the revolution, the tireless fighter and the mighty standard-bearer of the resistance,” the president wrote in a message on Thursday, ahead of the upcoming funeral and farewell ceremonies of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
“Although the martyrdom of this great Leader brought deep sorrow to the hearts of our nation, the Islamic Ummah, and all the free people of the world, it revealed the undeniable truth that the solid foundation of this system is built on the solid pillars of faith, ideals, and the will of a great nation. (The martyrdom of the Leader) is not the end of the road, but the beginning of a new chapter of solidarity, perseverance, and growth of a nation that always steps towards tomorrow more united, more steadfast, and more hopeful through the most difficult trials.”
Pezeshkian added, “Undoubtedly, the name, thoughts and brilliant record of this epic-maker, who, in the most difficult years of contemporary history, with firm faith, wise strategy and unparalleled courage, kept the flag of independence, religious democracy and resistance high, will forever remain immortal in the historical memory of the Iranian nation and the awakened conscience of the free people of the world.”
He emphasized that what guarantees the security, stability and bright future of Iran is national solidarity, conscious presence and resistance against the excessive demands of the arrogant.
The president invited all the honorable people of our country - of every ethnicity, religion, taste and political orientation - to once again portray a lasting manifestation of national unity and loyalty to the lofty ideals of the Islamic system with a passionate, steadfast and historic presence in the funeral and burial farwell ceremonies of the martyred Leader.
The people’s massive presence would a decisive response to the logic of terror, violence, and bullying, and a clear message to the world that shows that the Iranian nation stands united in defending its independence and dignity, and that no incident will weaken the will of this nation to build a prosperous, free, powerful, and proud Iran.
