In comments at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Masoud Pezeshkian described the upcoming funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a historic event and urged the Iranian nation to demonstrate unity and solidarity through a massive public turnout.
He said the funeral would not only be significant for Iran but also for the broader Muslim world.
“The martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution did not belong solely to Iran. He was an influential figure in the Islamic world and among the wider global Shiite community,” the president said.
Paying tribute to the martyred Leader for defending Islamic ideals, the unity of the Islamic Ummah, solidarity among Muslims, and the struggle against oppression and bullying, Pezeshkian said, “With clarity and courage, he upheld his righteous positions in the face of the world's arrogant powers.”
The president also expressed hope that the large-scale and dignified participation of the Iranian people in the funeral ceremony would once again convey the nation's message of unity, cohesion, and solidarity to the world.
Pezeshkian further emphasized that the Iranian nation, by relying on internal unity and solidarity while strengthening convergence among Islamic countries, “will continue on the path of dignity, independence, and progress with determination and will not allow any power to force Muslim nations into submission.”
