Iran: No Technical Talks Scheduled This Week

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian negotiator said no technical meetings of the working groups established under the Islamabad MoU on ending the imposed war have been scheduled for this week, noting that consultations through mediators remain ongoing.

Asked by reporters about the status of negotiations under the memorandum of understanding on ending the imposed war, Kazem Gharibabadi said on Monday, “No technical meetings of the working groups have been scheduled for this week.”

“Although consultations with Qatar, including regarding follow-up on the implementation of the other side’s commitments, are continuing as usual, reports by some media outlets claiming that technical talks of the working groups will be held in Doha are not confirmed,” he added.

“The first round of technical talks within the framework of the designated working groups will be held once conditions are in place and after agreement is reached on the date and venue,” the Iranian deputy foreign minister explained.

Gharibabadi added that consultations regarding the matter are continuing through mediating countries.
