Iran, Oman Discuss 60-Day Strait of Hormuz Traffic Plan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman stressed continued coordination over maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and related 60-day temporary arrangements following the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US.

In a telephone conversation on Thursday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi discussed the latest regional developments and issues of mutual concern.

The two ministers reviewed recent developments related to maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and the proposed temporary arrangements for a 60-day period.

They also emphasized the importance of continued coordination, bilateral consultations, and technical and expert-level engagement in managing the situation.

Araqchi and Albusaidi further expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the recent visit of the Iranian delegation to Muscat and the discussions held there.

They also underlined the need to continue consultations and follow-up on shared interests through diplomatic channels and sustained cooperation between Tehran and Muscat.
