Speaking on Monday, Major General Amir Hatami said Iran confronted the world’s greatest power and a ruthless and criminal force supporting it during both the 12-day war in June 2025 and the recent war of aggression that was imposed on February 28.
He said the enemies had believed they could inflict severe damage on Iran and the Islamic Revolution, and had come with the intention of “finishing the job,” but events showed that their assessments and assumptions had been mistaken.
The commander of the Iranian Army stated that the enemy had made deeply flawed calculations and neither succeeded nor will succeed in achieving its objectives.
Hatami further said that during the 12-day war, the Israeli enemy believed that by assassinating commanders it had brought the confrontation to an end.
However, he said, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei adopted the necessary measures, the people stood firm, and the enemy’s plans failed.
Referring to the US-Israeli war of aggression, Hatami said the enemy again believed that by assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution it could bring matters to a conclusion, but once more the Iranian nation rose up and frustrated those plans.
He described the martyrdom of the Leader and Iranian commanders as deeply painful and difficult, but said the enemy ultimately realized that the Islamic Revolution and the bond between the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic are far stronger than it had assumed.
Major General Hatami added that the enemy must respect the Iranian nation, their beliefs, Islam, and the system of the Islamic Republic.
