In a statement on Saturday night, Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the continued brutal attacks by the Zionist regime against Lebanon over the past several days, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of people, including several paramedics and a Lebanese journalist and photographer – Ahmad Hariri – as well as the widespread destruction of the country's infrastructure.
Referring to the ongoing violations of Lebanon's national sovereignty and territorial integrity and the martyrdom of over three thousand people and injury of more than nine thousand in the terrorist attacks by the occupying regime against Lebanon over the past three months, Baqaei described the indifference and inaction of the United Nations Security Council towards these crimes as shameful.
He also emphasized the necessity of urgent action by the Muslim world, particularly through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to halt the occupation and crimes of the Zionist regime, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
He also commended the patience and resilience of the Lebanese people in the face of the aggression and occupation by the Zionist regime, offered condolences to the families of the martyrs as well as to the people and government of Lebanon, and affirmed Iran's full solidarity with Lebanon in its path to defend Lebanon's sovereignty and independence.
