In a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for the Pakistani government’s constructive stance and efforts in supporting regional stability and security.
The discussions focused on regional developments, the Pakistani-mediated negotiations between Iran and the US, and the implementation of existing bilateral agreements between Tehran and Islamabad, according to the website of the Iranian president’s office.
The Iranian president highlighted that the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties between the two neighboring nations provide a strong foundation for expanding cooperation across political, economic, and security sectors.
He also stressed that such coordination is vital for promoting stability and serving the shared interests of both nations.
For his part, the interior minister conveyed messages from Pakistani leadership regarding current regional developments, reiterating Islamabad’s commitment to ongoing communication and mutual understanding.
Both sides agreed on the importance of sustaining political consultations to navigate regional issues effectively.
