Pezeshkian made the remarks on Monday during a meeting with managers of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, where he received a comprehensive report on the latest status of the country’s transportation, transit, ports, communication corridors, and logistical capacities under the current special conditions.
During the meeting, the main issues related to increasing import and export capacity through the country’s ports, border terminals, and rail transportation network were reviewed.
The participants also stressed the necessity of maintaining the stability of trade flows, supplying essential goods, and enhancing the resilience of the country’s logistical infrastructure amid economic warfare and regional developments.
Referring to the strategic importance of the transportation sector in managing the country’s economy, the Iranian president called for greater coordination among executive bodies, acceleration of transit procedures, and the removal of existing obstacles at the country’s entry and exit points.
Pezeshkian also underscored the need to develop active economic diplomacy and expand regional interactions with neighboring countries.
He said using the capacities of neighboring states for the development of transportation infrastructure, transit, and joint investment constitutes one of the key axes of the administration’s economic policy.
The president further referred to the readiness announced by some regional countries to cooperate in Iran’s infrastructure projects and called for purposeful use of such capacities in developing international corridors as well as rail and road projects.
