In comments during a visit to a mosque in Tehran on Sunday, the president said enemies are seeking to exert pressure on the country’s economy and generate social discontent “through disruption in the supply of energy and public services.”
“If we can manage and reduce electricity, gas, and water consumption with public participation, in addition to neutralizing part of the enemies’ pressures and economic plots, it will also make it possible to administer the country sustainably and without challenges,” he said.
Pezeshkian visited the mosque to review the implementation of the “neighborhood-centered and mosque-centered governance” initiative and was briefed on measures related to local social networking, the delivery of services by executive bodies, and cultural and educational programs linked to energy management and consumption reduction.
The president described changing society’s consumption behavior as one of the country’s most essential current requirements.
