In a message posted on his X account on Thursday following the formation of Iraq’s new government, Araqchi congratulated Ali al-Zaidi on assuming the premiership and also welcomed the continuation of Fuad Hussein as Iraq’s foreign minister.
“I congratulate the formation of the new government under Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and the continuation of my brother Fuad Hussein in the position of foreign minister,” Araqchi wrote.
He added that “the expansion of brotherly and friendly Tehran-Baghdad relations will always remain at the top of our foreign policy priorities.”
