Araqchi said it was surprising for all participants at the BRICS meeting in India that the UAE representative “had no issue other than addressing the war and the responses Iran gave to the United States on that country’s soil.”
The Iranian foreign minister described the matter as “truly regrettable” and said he was forced to fully explain the issue to the members of the meeting and the countries present in BRICS.
“We usually do not raise such matters, but everything has its limits,” Araqchi said.
He further stated that “the UAE stood alongside the United States and Israel during this war.”
Iran had not wanted to enter into such discussions in order to preserve unity and cohesion within BRICS, but since the UAE representative raised the issues, Tehran was compelled to present “the realities to the international community,” Araqchi stated.
Araqchi added that he eventually advised the UAE representative that “the Zionist regime and the United States cannot bring security for them.”
