An informed source told Tasnim that despite the military bluster of US President Donald Trump and some other American officials, Washington is fully aware of the disastrous and humiliating consequences of any military action against Iran.
The source said the US administration knows that if it takes any action, it would face humiliation similar to —or even greater than— what it experienced during the 40-day war.
The source added that while the US continues its bullying posture in public, some members of the American negotiating team have, beyond relying on Pakistan, in recent days sought mediation with Iran through several other countries as well.
“This is a typical American habit,” the source said, noting that Washington seeks to preserve its “hollow image” outwardly while internally realizing that it has no viable military option capable of rescuing it.
The source further stated that any such actions, similar to developments over the past two days, would not solve America’s problems but would instead add to its failures and difficulties.
The source stressed that Iran is prepared for every possible scenario, adding that Tehran neither believes Washington’s attempts at mediation nor fears its military threats anymore.
“The United States has only one path ahead: to accept defeat sooner and avoid imposing heavier costs on itself,” the source said.
