In a message marking the International Workers’ Day on May 1, President Pezeshkian said the occasion provides an opportunity to appreciate the men and women who, with capable hands, unwavering determination, creative minds, and hopeful hearts, have upheld the main pillars of the country’s development and prosperity.
Recalling his own experience of labor during his teenage years, Pezeshkian said he fully understands that being a worker is not merely a job, but a way of living with dignity, standing firm in the face of hardships, and building a better future for family and homeland.
The president said Iran’s labor community has always borne the heavy burden of production and national development with patience, responsibility, and integrity, keeping hope alive among Iranians even under the most difficult conditions.
He added that Iran’s history clearly shows that during critical periods, from the days of the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense era to the challenges caused by sanctions and the recent imposed war by the US and the Zionist enemy, it has been the country’s workers who played a decisive role through production and support activities and provided a reliable backing for the nation’s independence and resilience.
Pezeshkian stated that today, under the country’s sensitive conditions, Iranian workers stand shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces and other defenders of the nation at the forefront of efforts toward self-sufficiency, resilience, and national progress.
He also described workers as the government’s strongest support in the process of rebuilding the destruction caused by the US-Israeli war of aggression.
The president said his administration, since the beginning of its work, has considered itself committed to pursuing the protection of workers’ rights, improving job security and living conditions, enhancing productivity, and achieving justice in workplaces through a responsible and empathetic approach.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s progress would not be possible without ensuring dignity, peace of mind, and hope for the labor community.
