In a message released on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi commemorated the 40th day since the martyrdom of Ali Larijani.
Araqchi described the late figure as an embodiment of courage, patience, and wisdom in both domestic and international arenas, noting that alongside his heavy political and strategic responsibilities, Larijani was also a thoughtful intellectual and a committed teacher.
Larijani was among the rare figures who viewed politics not merely as a field of power, but as a domain of moral responsibility and historical rationality, the foreign minister added.
Araqchi added that this characteristic was reflected in Larijani’s decisiveness during critical junctures, as well as his self-restraint in the face of pressure, where he consistently chose a firm but calm, prudent, and non-emotional approach.
Ali Larijani’s presence in Iran was not merely that of a manager or diplomat, but rather a source of intellectual reliance and reassurance within the country’s decision-making system, Araqchi added, noting that many turned to the martyr’s analysis, insight, and strategic vision during complex moments.
Ali Larijani was martyred alongside his son Morteza in an Israeli airstrike on March 17.
