In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani exchanged views on a range of regional issues.

Araqchi expounded on the latest regional developments, particularly the Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad and the continued violation of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in Lebanon.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran, just as it has acted decisively in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, has entered the diplomatic process with a responsible approach to safeguard its national interests and protect regional peace and security," Araqchi noted.

For his part, the Qatari minister of foreign affairs emphasized the Arab country's support for the continuation of mediation efforts to end the war.
