In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Baqaei expressed outrage over the demolition of the historic Rafieinia Synagogue, underscoring the incident as a tragic affront to religious heritage and collective Iranian values.
“US, Israel flattened a historic Rafieinia Synagogue in the heart of Tehran and desecrated Torah scrolls,” he said.
“This despicable war crime was committed during the Jewish holidays, as Homayoun Sameyah, the representative of Iran's Jewish community in the Parliament, reported,” Baqaei added.
“Attacking this beautiful Synagogue — like the attacks on mosques, churches, schools, hospitals, residential areas, and industrial infrastructure — is abhorred by all Iranians,” the spokesman stated.
“Iranians are united & resolved in defending their homeland,” he underlined.
