Araqchi Warns of Global Consequences of US Attack on Iran’s Infrastructure

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi gave a stark warning about the far-reaching consequences of any US attack on Iran’s infrastructure for global energy and economy, cautioning the American officials that they would be held accountable for any such tragedy.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Araqchi and his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot discussed the latest regional developments and international issues related to the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.

Araqchi referred to the threats from the United States regarding attacks on Iran’s infrastructure, stating, "This threat amounts to normalizing war crimes and genocide, and if carried out, it will undoubtedly face a decisive and comprehensive response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The Iranian foreign minister warned that the consequences of such a situation would not be limited to Iran and the region but would have destructive effects on global energy and the economy, and responsibility for this would solely lie with American officials and aggressors.

For his part, the French foreign minister emphasized the need to end the war and described the threats concerning attacks on infrastructure as a source of increased tension in the region, stressing the necessity of resolving issues through diplomacy.

The top diplomats of Iran and France also exchanged views on consular matters between the two countries.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of then Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
