In a post on his X account on Sunday, Esmaeil Baqaei pointed to what he characterized as unprecedented protests unfolding nationwide in the United States, framing them as evidence of growing domestic resistance to the ongoing war against Iran.
He also emphasized a long-standing pattern of American public dissent against foreign interventions, while asserting that such decisions are often made without transparency and in violation of international norms.
“The largest protests in US history are unfolding across the country as Americans demand an end to the illegal war their administration has chosen to wage against Iran,” Baqaei said.
“For years, the American public has demonstrated remarkable moral courage by consistently opposing the misguided and warmongering policies of their administrations. Decisions that flagrantly breach international law and starkly violate fundamental human values are often made in secrecy, yet they will ultimately be judged by the public opinion and the global conscience,” he added.
“Iran harbors no hostility toward the American people. No American lives or tax dollars should be sacrificed for a senseless ‘war of whims’ driven by vicious whims of indicted war criminals,” he stated.
The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
