Iran, Pakistan Discuss Regional Crisis, Push for End to US-Israeli War

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ishaq Dar discussed ongoing US-Israeli military aggression against Iran and stressed the need for regional efforts to halt the war and restore stability.

In a telephone conversation on Saturday evening, Araqchi and Ishaq Dar reviewed the latest regional developments amid the continued military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran.

During the call, Araqchi elaborated on crimes committed by the US and the Israeli regime against the Iranian nation, particularly attacks targeting public infrastructure, schools, hospitals, scientific centers, and residential areas.

He emphasized the responsibility of all regional countries and the international community to confront the collapse of international legal norms resulting from the lawlessness and grave crimes of the two regimes against humanity.

For his part, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled position condemning military aggression against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also briefed Araqchi on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to stop the war, including plans to host a quadrilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia in Islamabad.

Ishaq Dar also expressed hope that through goodwill efforts and cooperation among regional countries, the ongoing conflict would be brought to an immediate halt, paving the way for the restoration of peace and stability in the region.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
