Bibi’s Brawl vs. Mossad Chief Heats Up Over War on Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Reports suggest that the dispute between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad Director David Barnea over the war against Iran has escalated.

Politics

A number of Hebrew sources report that Barnea has not participated in any joint meetings with Netanyahu for at least the past week.

This conflict arose after Netanyahu accused the Mossad chief of misleading Israel with false information regarding Iran's military capabilities and political and social status, leading the Zionist regime to a war whose outcome is uncertain, and a potential defeat in this war could pose a serious existential threat to Israel.

Hebrew sources state that, on the other hand, the Mossad believes it has provided accurate information to the prime minister, but Netanyahu, based on his personal adventurous spirit, has initiated a war with unpredictable results, and the possible responsibility for failure falls not on the Mossad but directly on the Israeli prime minister himself.

Some Hebrew sources have even gone so far as to say that the prime minister's office and the Mossad have accused each other of the presence of Iranian spies and leaks of information from sensitive military and security centers in Israel.

Earlier, during Israel's attack on Doha in September 2025, the prime minister's office and the Mossad were blaming each other for revealing the information about the attack moments before the operation began, thereby undermining the success of the attack.

The Mossad has also claimed that David Barnea warned the Israeli prime minister before the war with Iran that, should war be initiated, the Mossad's secret networks in the southern Persian Gulf would be at risk of Iranian attack, and measures would need to be taken to protect them (likely involving relocation to hotels or military bases), which in turn could lead to the discovery and eventual destruction of these networks.
