It called for an immediate reaction from international organizations to the incident.
The Bushehr plant, Iran's only operating nuclear power station built with Russian assistance, houses Russian specialists among its staff.
Russian officials have repeatedly warned against any military actions that could endanger the facility and risk a radiological or ecological disaster in the region.
No immediate response to the Russian statement was available from US or Israeli officials.
Separately, the Russian Foreign Ministry has on previous occasions strongly condemned earlier strikes near the Bushehr site and urged the IAEA to provide a clear assessment of the threats to the facility.
