Military Spokesman Dismisses Plan for Minelaying in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters of Iran ruled out any plan for minelaying in the Persian Gulf amid the US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.

The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters said in a statement on Monday night, “The Islamic Republic of Iran confidently has the initiative in the Persian Gulf and the territorial waters of Oman Sea and is very intelligently and powerfully controlling the Strait of Hormuz.”

“Therefore, due to our dominance and sufficient power, there will be no need to lay mines in the Persian Gulf, and when necessary, we will use all available means to ensure security,” the Iranian spokesman stated.

“The Armed Forces (of Iran), with dominance over the American-Zionist enemies and in cooperation with regional countries, are capable of securing the Persian Gulf, and extra-regional countries have no right to interfere in this area,” he underlined.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
