Iran Raps European Hypocrisy on US-Israeli Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian foreign minister denounced the contradictory stance of several European nations and EU officials regarding the war imposed by the US and Israel on Iran, warning that any tacit support for aggression would make them complicit in the violations against Iranian people.

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas discussed the regional developments following the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran and the associated regional and international repercussions.

Araqchi outlined the atrocities committed by the US and Israeli regime, particularly highlighting attacks on hospitals, schools, infrastructure, and residential areas. He emphasized the obligation of all governments to condemn these acts, reaffirming that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty with full resolve.

He strongly criticized the dual and hypocritical approach of certain European countries and senior EU officials towards the military aggression by the US and Israel against Iran. Araqchi asserted that any support or tolerance shown towards the blatant violations of these two regimes would equate to complicity in the crimes they are committing against the Iranian people.

Araqchi characterized the current situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz as a direct result of the US-imposed war on Iran. He warned of the dangerous consequences stemming from America's schemes to drag other countries into its criminal war against Iran.

He made it clear that disruptions in shipping in the Strait of Hormuz arise from the imposed war by the US and the Israeli regime.

If the EU and European nations genuinely care about peace and security in the region, they should, instead of adopting irresponsible stances, exert pressure on the aggressors to halt their military actions against the Iranian people, Araqchi stated.

Kallas, for her part, expressed profound concern over the security, humanitarian, and economic ramifications resulting from the war, reiterating the EU's position that an immediate cessation of hostilities is necessary.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
