Report on Iran Seeking to Communicate with US ‘Pure Lie’: Source

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An informed source dismissed as a “pure lie” a report claiming that Iran has sought communication with the US in recent days.

The informed Iranian official told Tasnim that the claim by the media outlet Axios, known for spreading fake news about Iran-US relations, that Tehran has recently sought communication with Washington, is false and unrealistic.

As military and economic pressure on US President Donald Trump has increased, he has become desperate and is sending negotiation signals in the political arena to affect the energy market, according to the official.

This is while his aggressions and military operations against Iranian citizens have not decreased but are increasing, the source stated.

According to this informed official, Iran has no trust in Trump’s promises, as he has played these same games and attacked Iran at least twice in the middle of negotiations that were in progress.

There will be no agreement that does not secure the long-term interests of Iran’s national security and its regional partners, and the overall situation in the region will certainly not return to pre-war conditions, the source emphasized.

Earlier, ,Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Iran has not put in any request for a ceasefire amid its “honorable and unshakable resistance” against the war of aggression imposed by the US and the Zionist regime.

In comments on the sidelines of a weekly press conference of the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, held in Tehran on Monday, Araqchi said Iran has neither sent any message nor made any request for ceasefire since the outbreak of the US-Israeli military campaign.

He said the US and Israeli enemies have realized what a great nation they are up against, stressing that Iran has no hesitation in defending itself and will proceed with the war as long as necessary.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and in regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
