Iraqi PM Condemns US-Israeli Attacks on PMU Positions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani strongly condemned US-Israeli aggression against positions of Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) forces, also known as Hashd Shaabi, warning of dire regional consequences while underscoring Iraq’s sovereignty over its forces.

Sudani warned against the reckless military adventurism by the US and Zionist regimes that threatens Iran and declared the strikes "unacceptable violations" and urged an immediate halt, stressing that such tension “risks destabilizing Iraq’s security chains.”

Meanwhile, a Coordinating Framework for Shiite Media office announced an emergency meeting at the Iraqi Prime Ministry attended by Hashd al-Shaabi leadership and armed forces commanders.

Participants—including Sudani—condemned "terrorist US-Israeli strikes" that injured Iraqi fighters deployed to maintain domestic stability, labeling them: "A direct violation of Iraq’s sovereignty."

The meeting reaffirmed Iraq’s stance declaring: "Such aggression endangers regional security and could disrupt supply chains."

Sources confirmed attacks near Taqaddum airbase in Salahuddin province, where Hashd al-Shaabi operates.
